little things

while ordering groceries last night from amazon fresh (brilliant invention) i stumbled across tulips (!) available for delivery with my groceries the next morning. on a whim, i added them to my cart--who knows what they'd be like, but why not?

unpacking my groceries this morning, there nestled carefully in its own tote with a cold pack, were a beautiful bunch of tulips.

i should buy fresh flowers more often. each time i bring them home, i'm always surprised that i've forgotten what beauty those colorful blossoms bring to my day. an indulgence, to be sure, but worth every penny when i catch them out of the corner of my eye, a little burst of graceful brightness, spring incarnate in my home. hopefully these will tide me over until all the farmers markets open. hurry, summer, hurry!
